About Us:
Neil Auchterlounie
Neil’s original background is in building and civil engineering working as a quantity surveyor and estimator for Wold Construction Co Ltd.
Eight years ago during a reflexology session, Neil’s childhood psychic and clairvoyant abilities became re-awakened and the gateways of the more spiritual dimensions of the world opened for him.
In 2003, this led him to become one the many visitors to the Health and Healing Festival in Buxton, which made such an impression upon him that in 2004, he kindly offered his services as a volunteer steward instantly becoming part of the team. Shortly afterwards he got to know Ruth better when they happened to work as volunteers on the Celtic Warrington Project (CWP) archaeological dig at Fern House in Buxton. This was to prove to be the catalyst for Neil and Ruth’s relationship as they were married in May 2006.
Needless to say that Neil no longer volunteers as a steward, but is now Co-organiser of MBS Festivals with Ruth and together they make an efficient team.
Neil’s role at MBS Festivals involves much of the computer work, mail outs, bookings, festival layouts and distribution of publicity material.
For anyone who is curious enough to want to know about the surname Auchterlounie – it originates from the Fife area of Scotland!

Ruth Auchterlounie
Ruth has a background of being involved in the Health and Healing scene for more than 25 years. Firstly helping out at the Natural Healing Centre in Goole, founded by her mother Kathleen Huddlestone and then herself qualifying as a therapist in the field of Iridology and in Crystal Healing, gaining a substantial working intuitive knowledge within these areas.
In 2005 Ruth became the owner of the Peppercorn Health Food Store in Goole, which had been due to close in the February of that year. She has now been successfully running the store for 5 years and is expanding the shop in the form of an online service in early 2010.
Before organising festivals, Ruth attended as a stand holder and still does when calendar dates allow. This has given her insight into the running of the festivals from the other side, observing the requirements of the stand holders and their expectations of what an Organiser should be
Ruth looks after the bookings for the stands, advanced ticket sales, workshop/talk schedule, the live performances and publicity/advertising for the festivals.

History
Health and Healing Festivals
Our first festival was founded in 1996 by Kathleen Huddlestone under the banner of the Spiritual Venture’s Association and held at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. Shortly afterwards, her daughter Ruth joined the team in the role of organisation and continued that role for 8 years.
In 2004, Kathleen took a backseat role and Ruth became the main organiser under the name of Labyrinth.
In 2006, the festival held at the Pavilions of the Harrogate was added and Neil, Ruth’s husband joined her in organising the events.
During 2009, Ruth and Neil decided it was time to add a further venue and after much research and deliberation, decided on the superb venue of The Spa at the East Yorkshire coastal town of Bridlington with the first Bridlington festival being held in May 2010.
